The purpose of this course is to educate the nurse and patient of types of back injuries the causes and the effects these injuries have on the patient. Another purpose is to train the nurse that each persons perception of pain is different and that all patients will experience pain in their own way. As nurses it is important that we understand treatments available and be experienced in the various testing needed for diagnosis and treatment.
