The goal of this course is to enhance an understanding of pain, describe current therapy modalities, and discuss influential factors that affect the pain experience and in particular, of dying patients. Pain of all kinds affects everyone and is a significant health problem that has the powerful ability to change a person’s life, which include his/her mental outlook, social withdrawal, the emergence of spiritual concerns, and a decline in physical capability. The goal of this course is to assist the reader/practitioner in becoming more aware of the management of pain, especially for those who are terminally ill.
