The goal of this course is to explain what bariatric surgery is; discuss the criteria used for consideration of patients eligible for bariatric Surgery; discuss the physical and psychological issues inherent in patients undergoing bariatric surgery; discuss the various operation choices available; discuss pre- and post-op nursing care; postoperative outcomes, and review the different procedure techniques.
