The goal of this course is to help health care professionals ensure patient safety; prevent the abuse and diversion of controlled substances and identify drug- seeking tactics and behaviors. A further goal of this course is to offer education regarding safe and effective prescribing, administration and dispensing of controlled substances in patient care.

- Identify the variables to consider when planning a strategy for diversion prevention and detection.
- Outline a plan of action to be used when diversion is discovered or suspected.
