Sexually Transmitted Infections and Older Adults
This course provides the reader with information related to sexually transmitted infections (STIs)(previously referred to as sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among individuals over age 50. A review of STI risk factors among the elderly is provided. Diagnostic barriers to HIV/AIDS diagnosis and psychosocial concerns of older individuals with HIV/AIDS are highlighted along with nursing considerations.
