This course provides a concise overview of the electrophysiological concepts of cardiac axis. Utilizing the six limb leads of the 12-lead ECG and the hexaxial reference system, normal axis and axis deviation will be determined. Various approaches for determining normal axis and axis deviation are reviewed. Physiological and pathological causes of axis deviation are also addressed.
