The goal of this course is to instruct the professional nurse in the application of acetylsalicylic acid (the drug commonly known as aspirin); its many benefits and usage, and the possible side effects associated with aspirin therapy. The course will explain how acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) works, dosing instructions, and drug interactions associated with aspirin usage. Included in the course will be a brief history on aspirin and how it was used initially.
