CNA: Update on Macrovascular Disease and Diabetes
The goal of this course is to help the CNAs learn about diabetes and macrovascular disease – the risk factors, types of macrovascular disease, prevalence, diagnosis and treatment options. We also discuss the UKPDS study done in the U.K., insulin resistance syndrome, whole blood viscosity, glycemic control, how blood pressure fits in, smoking, nutrition, and physical activity necessary to reduce the risk of complications.
