The purpose of this course is to increase the knowledge base of the professional nurse caring for the patient requiring mechanical ventilation. This course describes the mechanics of normal ventilation and how it differs from mechanical ventilation. Included in this course is the presentation of potential complications related to mechanical ventilation and measures to take to decrease the incident of potential complications.
