This learning module will introduce the history of nursing documentation and review the relationship between documentation and litigation/lawsuits. The goal of the course is to advance nurses’ mindfulness of the importance of comprehensive documentation of patient care and nursing interventions, in order to remain out of court or to help assist them in court if needed.
