Infection Control – The Basics
Infections continue to be a challenge and concern in the healthcare industry, impacting patient outcomes, provider and patient safety, and financial implications for healthcare organizations. This course will review common Infections and the patients most at risk. Causes of infections, recognition of signs and symptoms, and the transmission of infection will be addressed. Finally, how the healthcare provider’s responsibility in prevention of infection is highlighted, by assessing how prevention measures are put in place through Infection Prevention protocols and guidelines.
