Caring for the Transgender Patient
Nurses aim to deliver quality patient care that focuses on the individual, with compassion and acceptance. Sometimes, personal biases and lack of knowledge or experience negatively impact our care. The transgender community has often reported high levels of discrimination in health care settings. The purpose of this course; therefore, is aimed at addressing transgender patient health care issues, with the goal of improving health outcomes in this underserved population.
