            The goal of this course is to present the professional nurse with a detailed study of how herpes simplex virus is contracted, how it is transmitted to others, and the complications it presents to certain individuals who contract herpes simplex viruses. Herpes simplex viruses can cause major complication to other body organs as well. Included in this course are the current treatment methods for those individuals who develop herpes simplex virus, type 1 and type 2. This course also discusses current research being conducted to treat herpes simplex virus, type 1 and type 2. Testing methods for detecting the presence of herpes simplex virus, type 1 and type 2, and practices to avoid contracting either type are also addressed.
